'Small Hour' by VACLAV KUNES @ Skanes Dansteater, Malmo/ 12-03-11

World premiere in Malmö
Skånes Dansteater launches two world premieres in Leap Second. The performance is in two parts, beginning with an award-winning duet, Small Hour, by the Czech choreographer Václav Kunes. He is
un upcoming choreographer with a background as dancer in Netherlands Dance Theatre and assistant for Jirí Kylián.
The second piece contains the world premiers of both choreographer Örjan Andersson’s new work Seven Clues made for 16 dancers and Sven-David Sandström’s orchestral work Seven Days, written directly for Skånes Dansteater and Malmö Opera Orchestra.
Örjan Andersson is one of Sweden’s most established choreographers. His work is characterized by dyna- mics and musicality. He has been commissioned to create work for many leading dance companies, such as the Cullberg Ballet, the Gothenburg Opera Ballet, The Swedish Royal Ballet, Netherlands Dance Thea- ter 1 and the Helsinki City Theater. Since 1996 he also runs his own dance company, Andersson Dance.
The composer Sven-David Sandström has a formida- ble production behind him with works for symphony orchestras, choirs and operas. In Leap Second Sven- David Sandström pulls the listener into the creation of the universe, the genesis.
Leap Second is shown at the Malmö Opera Performance dates: March 12, 16, 18, 20, 22, 26, 27, 29, 31, April 1 & 2
