YASUYUKI ENDO

Yasuyuki is currently associated as a choreographer with Ballet National de Marseille, under the direction of Frederic Flamand, where he has danced since 2005. His previous choreografic work can be found in Australia, Japan and Europe.

Yasuyuki Endo was born in Tokyo, Japan, where he started his classical ballet education in 1986 at the Shigyo Ballet School.
In 1991 he joined the Star Dance Ballet Tokyo. He remained until 1994, dancing among others the leading role in Jerome Robbins's 'Afternoon of a Faun'.
In 1994 Yasuyuki was invited to join the Australian Ballet where he danced for two years soloist work such as 'Le Concours' by Maurice Bejart, 'Beyondbach' by Stephen Baynes.
For the Australian Ballets New Moves evening he created 'Distance'.
After joining the Star Dance Ballet Tokyo again in 1996 he received in 1998 the 10th Muramutu Award in Japan, having performed such important roles as the leading man in Peter Wright's 'Coppelia', 'Step Text' by William Forsythe, 'Western Symphony' by George Balanchine among others. While working as a dancer at Star Dance Ballet Tokyo he choreographed 'trans' for the company.
In 1999 he moved to Europe upon being invited to join Charleroi Danses plan-k, where he collaborated in all of Frederic Flamand's creations.
During his years in Charleroi Yasuyuki was invited as a guest artist and choreographer for several companies.
He worked as a dancer with Saburo Teshigawara on 'I was real documents' and 'Turandot', 2000/2002.
During this time he created 'Chain' for the Ayoma Ballet Festival and 'Ongaku' for the Tama Ballet Festival in 2002.
Also in 2002 Yasuyuki formed a performing arts group, 'Bonobos', with Taka Shamoto (Rosas), and gave improvisational workshops for the Saison Foundation in Tokyo. Since 2002 he is invited regularly to teach classical ballet class and contemporary dance workshops in Europe and Japan.
In 2003 Yasuyuki choreographed 'Haoto' for the project Pasarelles '03 in Belgium.
In 2005 he became a soloist dancer with the Ballet National de Marseille. As well as being involved in all of Frederic Flamand's creations,
Yasuyuki has choreographed 'Fire Birds' for the SDB, 2007, 'Kaeru' for the NBA Ballet in Tokyo, 2008, as well as 'Té TO Té' for the Ballet National de Marseille, 2008.
His live dance/ dance film project called 'Super MAN Project' for the Ballet National de Marseille, 2009, was chosen to be presented at the Berlin International Dance Film Festival, 2009.
